How do I programme a cobot or robot?
Robot and cobot programming can be carried out either online,  using a teach pendant or direct coding, or offline through simulation software. While teach pendants are easy to use, they are limited in terms of precision and process complexity. Offline solutions such as Polyscope, RoboDK and SprutCAM provide more advanced functionality, improved accuracy and uninterrupted production. SprutCAM stands out as the most complete solution for complex toolpaths.

Your choice of programming method depends on your application, expertise, time and budget. The right software can elevate your automation to a higher level.

The benefits of equipping a cobot or robot with a turntable
Turntables play a key role in robotic metalworking cells. They enhance precision, working range and overall efficiency. Three main types are available: basic rotary tables without positioning, indexing tables with fixed angles, and synchronised rotary tables that operate simultaneously with the robot.

Each type serves specific applications, from basic polishing operations to advanced grinding processes. Synchronised turntables require the use of CAM software such as SprutCAM. At Cibo Robotics, we frequently combine different table types to ensure maximum flexibility and safety. Choosing the right turntable is key to achieving optimal precision, speed and ergonomics.

Abrasives: the key to a successful project
In many automation projects, the importance of choosing the right abrasives is underestimated. Conventional abrasives lose performance over time, whereas 3D abrasives provide consistent quality and durability throughout the process.

Robots cannot independently assess when a change of abrasive  is required, which is why smart integration is essential. At Cibo Robotics, we combine over 75 years of expertise in abrasives with advanced robotic know-how to identify the ideal abrasive solution for your application. True success goes beyond technology, it requires a partner who understands both disciplines.

Not every motor is designed for grinding applications!
Fitting an angle grinder onto a cobot may appear straightforward, yet in reality automated grinding is far more complex. In this article, Cibo Robotics explains why tools equipped with a universal motor often fail to deliver the required performance.

Servo motors provide superior control, precision and reliability, all of which are vital for high-end automation. While they are more costly and technically complex, their benefits often outweigh their disadvantages. At Cibo Robotics, we assist you in choosing the ideal motor according to your budget, accuracy needs and future scalability, resulting in a durable, high-performance sanding system.
