Automation of grinding processes for industry-specific containers

Meunier Frères is a renowned specialist in stainless-steel constructions, offering high-quality finishing techniques for sectors such as the food industry, pharmaceuticals and chemicals.

To optimise their production process, they implemented an automated sanding cell together with Cibo Robotics and CNC Solutions for the finishing of double-walled stainless steel containers used on an industrial scale for the production of sauces.

The perfect balance between robotics and craftsmanship at Meunier Frères

The robot finishes 80% of the weld seams, including internal and external corners as well as flat and mitred joints. The experienced finishers apply the final touch, resulting in a perfect finish.

In addition to a drastic reduction in grinding times, improved working conditions and process continuity were the main drivers for automation. This collaboration demonstrates how robotics and craftsmanship go hand in hand to create a more efficient and sustainable production process.
